Lake Davidson

Lake Davidson is 381 acres and is a small, separate portion of the larger Lake Norman. It is located in the town of Davidson in Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties, North Carolina. It is just a short 30-mile drive from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Life on the Lake

This is the perfect spot for those who love kayaking, canoeing, and other slower forms of boating. The smaller size of the lake lends itself to superb paddle boarding, especially with motor limits of up to 10 horsepower. You can launch your own private vessel or rent from the Lake Davidson Nature Reserve, where the boat ramp is located.

Anglers also enjoy Lake Davidson. The lack of wake-creating watercraft provides peaceful, still waters that provide a superior fishing environment. You can catch largemouth and striped bass; black crappie; and blue, flathead, and channel catfish here.

Out on the Town

The town of Davidson has plenty of things to do as well. There is a farmers market in the downtown area, as well as plenty of parks and golf courses to take advantage of. In total, there are 14 distinct public parks, including the 200-acre Fisher Farm Park and six miles of walking greenway.

You can also attend one of their many music and art events, like one of their Concerts on the Green or one of their Davidson Community Players' theatrical plays. You can eat at local favorite restaurants such as Brick House Tavern and The Pickled Peach.

Charlotte offers big-city entertainment. You can visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Carowinds, and multiple sports arenas. To eat, try out Lang Van, The Melting Pot, and Midwood Smokehouse.

The nearest hospital is Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, just five miles from Lake Davidson. 30 minutes down the road is Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
