This dream began with a phone call. The residential/commercial builder from Batavia, NY, was a personal friend. Quality Construction and Quality Materials created this unusual 1981 Colonial home. Entry begins with a front porch. Enter the house to discover beautiful oak hardwood in the foyer (hardwoods are a recent upgrade) and all of the major rooms on the first floor (except the kitchen and half bath). The focal point is the circular, solid oak staircase leading to the second floor. The Amish craftsman created the staircase on site.
The layout of the first floor follows a very traditional structure. The front rooms being the more formal rooms. The rooms facing the backyard more casual family areas.
Discovering the first floor has not only solid oak floors, but also, the formal dining room, breakfast room and kitchen have custom crown molding. The formal dining room is larger than average. The living room, often used as the family's music room has a large upright piano. There is still generous square footage to easily configure large living room furniture.
Entry from the garage is very standard for most homes of the 1980's. The first room being the essential first floor laundry. Leading into the kitchen, a separate breakfast room followed by the family room. This family room includes a large brick fireplace. The fireplace, not used in many years, was professionally cleaned after the last use. The exterior brick was repointed and capped.
The second floor layout has four larger than average bedrooms and 2 full baths. The primary bedroom suite is large enough to accommodate a king sized bed. Two bedrooms can accommodate queen sized beds. The smallest bedroom currently has a day bed. Both full baths have large one acrylic piece units for the shower and tub.
The lower level basement is paneled. The office is in this section of the house. The exterior of the home features two separate decks. The deck accessed from the breakfast room has a roof and shades. Generous attached two car garage. Additional door into garage.
All windows are new except the bay window, bow window and laundry room window.
