Fun on the Water

Silver Lake is a 216-acre expanse of water along the Winnipesaukee River with an average depth of six feet and a maximum depth of 22 feet.

The water invites all lake activities, including boating, water skiing, wave running, swimming, fishing, or sailing.

It is a fairly popular location for powerboats; many residents own them, and visitors also bring them. Kayakers and canoers can paddle around the calm waters of the lake or venture out the Winnipesaukee River.

Anglers come to Silver Lake to reel in healthy largemouth and smallmouth bass but can also catch perch, black crappie, chain pickerel, bluegill, and brown bullhead.

Silver Lake Campground on the lake has campsites, a 600-foot beach, a playground, a basketball court, and a laundromat. The camp hosts lakeside bonfires, cornhole tournaments, potlucks, and more.

Rochester is the largest city in the seacoast region and the fourth-largest city in the state. There is a lot of rich history and a variety of activities to embark on in the city.

If you want to spend an afternoon outside, there are public and family-friendly parks and playgrounds. There are also hiking, walking, and biking trails along the Cocheco River.
