Lake Kanasatka stretches for two miles and covers 371 acres. Its crystal-like waters have an average depth of 18 feet but can reach up to 40 feet.

This beautiful lake attracts a variety of wildlife; you can commonly hear and see the loons swimming about the lake or occasionally see a fox or moose on the wooded shoreline.

Delightful Recreational Location

You will see all kinds of watercraft at Lake Kanasatka: pontoons, fishing boats, jet skis, motorboats, kayaks, canoes, or paddle boats.

Anglers love coming to the lake for a peaceful atmosphere with excellent fishing opportunities. It is a warm water fishery, holding largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, chain pickerel, white perch, sunfish, and brown bullhead.

When the lake freezes, it turns into a beautiful winter landscape for sports like snowmobiling or snowshoeing. The north side of the lake is home to two residential summer camps, Camp Quinebarge and Camp Hawkeye.

Explore Rochester

Rochester is the largest city in the seacoast region and the fourth-largest city in the state. There is a lot of rich history and a variety of activities to embark on in the city.

If you want to spend an afternoon outside, there are public and family-friendly parks and playgrounds. There are also hiking, walking, and biking trails along the Cocheco River.
