Well-maintained cottage on pristine, semi-private Northwoods lake! With 100 feet of frontage on crystal-clear, 152-acre Silver Lake, this charming cottage in a beautiful Northwoods setting offers peace, quiet, and four seasons of recreational fun. Open concept for the dining/living/kitchen area, with a downstairs storage area. The main floor bedroom has a queen size bed. The loft/sleeping area upstairs can accommodate a crowd of family members or friends. There is also a smaller out-building, called the "bunkhouse" for extra sleeping space. With electricity right to it for lights or video games, kids love it! The 1.2 acre lot has mature hardwoods, and a variety of native wildflowers bloom in the spring. Hunting for deer is very good in this area, and with National Forest land all around you, you don't have to walk far to find a good spot to hunt. Or if wildlife viewing is more to your taste - loons, bald eagles, ospreys, mergansers, and otter are commonly spotted on the lake. Many species of warblers and other migratory birds nest in the hardwood stands surrounding the cottage, and even uncommon species such as fisher and pine marten are occasionally seen. There is a path to the lake winding through the trees, where your own boat dock with a bench and a swim raft in the lake await you. Silver Lake is nestled within the 1-million acre Ottawa National Forest. There is no public boat access on Silver Lake (so the lake is never crowded), and the shoreline is over 60\\% National Forest land. There are only three year-round residences at the lake, with the rest being seasonal residents. Fishing is of course a big draw to the lake. Silver Lake offers excellent fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass, bluegills, and yellow perch. Fishing pressure is very light, unlike many other lakes in the area that have public boat launches. Fish can be caught right from the dock at certain times of the year. Heat is provided by a wood fireplace, but a propane furnace could easily be added if desired (water heater is propane). Furnishings include a boat dock with bench, swim raft, and even an older pontoon boat. So you can move right in and enjoy lake living at its finest. Low maintenance vinyl siding and a newer roof mean more time for recreating, and not working, while you're at the lake. A small storage shed at the lake side holds your water toys and fishing gear.
