Cordry Lake

Cordry Lake is one of two lakes considered to be a part of the Prince’s Lakes, which was created by developer Howard Prince in the 1950s.

Now, Cordry Lake is a part of the Cordry-Sweetwater Conservancy District, along with its neighbor Sweetwater Lake. Cordry Lake is the smaller of the two lakes, coming in at 160 acres in size.

Just an hour north of Cordry Lake is the state’s capital, Indianapolis. You are just a quick drive away from a plethora of shops, food, and different kinds of entertainment.

Boating and Fishing

Boats are allowed on Cordry Lake, but residents must comply with local regulations and laws. Decals must be purchased each year to use your boat on Cordry Lake and Sweetwater Lake. These two lakes are considered private lakes, which is why a boat decal is necessary. This privacy creates the perfect oasis for lake residents.

Local anglers reported that Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes are full of large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, pike, perch, and some walleye.

The lakes are ranked highly amongst Indiana’s lakes and have been considered the first and second cleanest and brightest lakes in Indiana. This makes these lakes a great place to try your hand and toss in a line.
