About the Area

Unlike Minneapolis, St. Paul has only a couple of lakes within its city limits, such as Lake Phalen and Como Lake. However, just to the north, in its first and second ring suburbs like Roseville, Maplewood, Shoreview and North Oaks, you will find a wide variety of water bodies with vastly different home styles surrounding them.

These lakes range from under one hundred acres in size, to nearly 500 acres, and are generally quite clear compared to other Twin Cities lakes. Their quality of water has made them sought after settings for busy professionals who want great proximity to downtown jobs. Sandy beaches around many of these lakes make for attractive play areas for the kids, and they're great for entertaining friends and relatives.

Many of the St. Paul area lakes allow water-skiing and most other forms of recreation, but the smaller ones will provide a bit more solitude for canoeing or just enjoying the natural surroundings. If you love the water, but don't want to be too far from the city life, the St. Paul Lakes may be just what you need!

Our local real estate professionals work with all types of real estate around St. Paul and the bordering suburbs. They can help you decide in living on the lake is right for you.
