This lake is an all-sports lake, but as most lakes have, there are multiple areas that are no wake zones and require a slower speed for safety reasons. Fishing in this lake is one of the highlights of the area! Anglers can expect to catch most species that are common in the area including panfish, small/largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, catfish, musky, and sturgeon. If you think that this lake is only good for summer, think again! Lake Mendota is known for its amazing ice fishing and sports. Residents can skate, play hockey, or fish on the frozen lake during most of the winter months!

Tenney Park, James Madison Park, Mendota County Park, Marshall Park, Picnic Point, and Lake View Hill Park, among others, are great options for spending some time in the sun, going on a hike, or just taking in the nature around you! You can also go to one of the public beaches around the lake!
