Over 2,100 Acres of Water

Turtle Lake stretches across 2,166 acres and has a 26-mile shoreline. Its waters have impressive clarity up to 15 feet and can be as deep as 137 feet.

It features seven islands and has many small bays. Many properties line the lakeshore, but a third of it is left undeveloped.

Boating, Fishing, Swimming, and More

Turtle Lake’s varying shoreline along with its islands make it an exciting place to explore. Some enjoy cruising in a pontoon while others speed in their motorboats.

Turtle Lake is a premier fishing location, host to several final-round fishing tournaments. The Major League Fishing Cup Championship was held there in 2017.

Scenic State Park boasts nearly 4,000 acres of healthy pine forests. Among the woods, there are four lakes and a full-service campground. It has countless trails for hiking, biking, birding, cross-country skiing, or snowmobiling.

You will have several chances to attend Grand Rapids events; some of these include the North Star Stampede Rodeo, Deer River BBQ & Brew Fest, Itasca County Fair, WinterGlo Festival, and the White Oak Rendezvous.
